Our annual report for the financial period 2019 - 2020 has been produced and submitted to the Charity Commission. Key findings are as follows:

  • 68 grant applications processed for the financial year against an annual target of 65.

  • Fundraising income performance £40,784 compared to 18-19 amount of £21,381 (this represents a 90% increase). Annual target was £20,000.

Naturally, we are very grateful to all who choose to donate to Annabel’s Angels, but for this period we are especially grateful to the following organisations for their significant contributions during the financial year 2019-20:

  • £6704.51 from M&S Ilkeston (due to our year long partnership with them);

  • £8,000 from The Bereavement Services team at Markeaton Crematorium for choosing Annabel’s Angels as their local charity beneficiaries of the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM) recycling scheme;

  • £1000 award from Derby Freemasons

£17,441 was spent in purchasing items for families in need during 19-20 against a figure of £25,762 for 18-19. Two reasons for this:

  • a drop in applications during February & March as a result of concerns around Covid-19;

  • a reduction in the maximum value per grant application (from £500 down to £300) imposed in August 2019 due to concerns around demand.

As always, we extend our gratitude to all who have supported Annabel’s Angels during this period. It has been another busy year for the charity, and 2020 - 2021 looks to be even busier.
